Shortcodes

A Shortcode represents a string of Chartfield values. Shortcodes are required to process payroll transactions and may be used with Service Unit Billings in place of Chartfields.

Note: Not all Chartfield combinations require a Shortcode. If you are unsure of if or how many Shortcodes you need, contact the Accounting Customer Service Team at the Shared Services Center with any questions at [email protected] or 734-615-2000, press #3, press #4.

Inactivations

A Shortcode may be inactivated at any time, as long as Payroll changes will not be necessary in the future. To add, change or inactivate a Shortcode, complete a Shortcode Chartfield request form.
