What is insured?
Insurance provides coverage for protection for property owned by, or loaned to, the university with an established appraised value.
Insured property includes (but is not limited to) museum collections, jewelry, precious metals, paintings, rare books, sculptures, rare coins and antiques.
Arrangements must be made in advance for coverage of temporary acquisitions, exhibits or loans.
What do I do if I have a claim?
- Report the loss to Insurance and Claims Administration by completing a Complete a Claim Submission Form: https://rm-umich.csc-fsg.com/UoM/(S(beppg4lrb3d4xwx0n5t3lxap))/report.aspx
- All incidents involving theft must be reported to the Department of Public Safety and Security.
- A "Proof of Loss" form must be forwarded to Insurance and Claims Administration accompanied by documentation substantiating the value of the property.
Is there a deductible?
Departments are charged a deductible of $0 for coverage of each occurrence.
