New: Tuition Refund Insurance Now Available for U-M Ann Arbor Students
The University of Michigan now offers Tuition Refund Insurance. This insurance protects against financial loss in case a student has to withdraw from the university due to illness or injury (physical or mental health).
Tuition Refund Insurance significantly extends and enhances the university's published withdrawal policy. The insurance is voluntary, inexpensive (costs less than 1% of a student’s tuition, $109 for an in-state undergrad) and protects a student’s financial investment for the academic year.
Advantages of this insurance include:
- It covers 75% of the insured term tuition and fees, less any refund or credit due from the university for students who must completely withdraw from a semester
- It provides funds that can help to pay back loans, grants and scholarships
- Coverage for University Housing can also be purchased
- It is offered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., a tuition insurance carrier that has been in business since 1930
