Your 2017 University of Michigan Form W–2 is Now Available
Please visit Wolverine Access to consent to receive an electronic PDF copy of your 2017 Form W-2 instead of an identical mailed copy. Go to Wolverine Access > Faculty & Staff tab > Employee Self-Service > Payroll and Compensation tile > View W-2/W2-c Forms. You may view or print your W-2 now, or return to Wolverine Access when you need it.
When you choose the electronic PDF copy, you will:
Avoid having sensitive W-2 information, such as your Social Security Number, delivered via U.S. mail.
Save significant postage costs and other associated mailing costs.
As of this morning, more than 60,000 faculty and staff have consented to receive electronic copies of the 2017 W-2s. Last year, the university saved $31,000 in postage thanks to those who received an electronic copy!
The agreement to accept an electronic copy of your Form W–2 is applicable to the 2017 calendar year only.
The electronic W-2 available in Wolverine Access will be accepted by the IRS and is exactly the same as the one that you would receive in the mail. Special artwork and perforated forms are no longer used for the W-2 that is mailed. Hardcopy Form W–2s will be mailed by January 31, 2018.
