Effort Reporting Procedures - Temporary Employee Effort Certification Process
Temporary employees certify effort when they report hours worked in each bi-weekly pay period.
- Unit reviews time reports for accuracy before processing. This may be a review by the employee, supervisor, principal investigator, unit administrator, or any combination of the four.
- When units identify effort distribution errors that have been incorrectly charged to Shortcodes, they should initiate a correction. (Refer to the Policy on Retroactive Salary Tranfers.)
- When retroactive Salary Distribution changes alter prior certified effort or create an Effort Reporting requirement that did not previously exist in a prior period, an Effort Recertification Memo must be processed. The memo is available in the Resources section.
